Dogon Granary Door - 39.1 plants harvested sustainably so the treeDogon granary doors come from the Dogon people of the Bandiagara Escarpment in Mali. Each door protected the small, window like opening into a family's grain store, secured with a simple sliding lock. The carved figures primordial beings, ancestors, Kanaga masks, sun lizards and scenes of daily life served to protect the entrance and make it sacrosanct. Size: approx. 66cm H 41cm W 12cm D.
